Malipunyo - Manabu Traverse

This was the first time we hike traverse together with our two new colleagues who are beginners experiencing a major climb. We trek for almost twelve hours in the middle of fog and rain along with a thorn plant, known as teka-teka plant, obstructing the trails. There were also rattan trees blocking our way which made us uncomfortable to move, we had to do some nod, ducking, sliding, and even crawling. We had an emergency camp in Biak na Bundok around 2300H, our legs were tired and we don't have time to prepare for dinner. Around seven o'clock in the morning, the weather slowly become beautiful, the sun begun to shine and the alluring view appears unlike in Mount Malipunyo had zero visibility due to fog. Our breakfast and lunch prepared simultaneously and we start our trek to Manabu around twelve o'clock in the afternoon. This time, we do our trek without our guide who left us in the campsite. But he gave us a map, directing to Mount Manabu together with a dog who our constant companion early in the Peak 1 of Malipunyo. This dog act as our guide so we don't get lost on the trail especially in our night trek to Biak na Bundok. We reach the summit of Manabu around two o'clock in the afternoon and we our the only group at that time. After an hour, we start descent and reach the famous coffee house of Mang Tino. You can taste his coffee for free and as I remember, I took three cups of coffee, masarap eh. On the other hand, that was Mang Tino's business, selling brewed coffee ranging from 50 pesos to 200 pesos.
